John Davis is a seasoned maritime professional with almost 50 years of experience in various capacities on the Mississippi River and Inland Waterways. Since starting his career in February 1978, John has held a Captain's License since 1982 and has successfully transitioned companies into Subchapter M compliance. His extensive expertise includes safety and regulatory experience, navigation, and vessel operations, as well as serving as a Port and Vessel Engineer. As the former Vice President of Training at Bisso Towboat, John is also a training expert, now offering his services through JD Maritime Consulting, where he assists clients in need of a skilled captain for trip work.
